Dr. Andres Pappa Huntsville, AL
Dr. Andres Pappa was born and raised in Guatemala City. He attended the school of dentistry at the prestigious Francisco Marroquin University, where he graduated as the top ranked student in his class, with a cum laude distinction in 2008. After graduation, he practiced dentistry in a prosthodontics practice owned by one of his dental school mentors, for over two years. This experience played a key role in his decision to specialize in Prosthodontics.
In 2010, Dr. Pappa was accepted into the Prosthodontics residency program at the School of Dentistry at Louisiana State University, where he learned advanced techniques and procedures from multiple world-renowned prosthodontists. After completing the three-year program, he was accepted into a one-year surgical implant fellowship, also at LSU, where he was trained in the surgical components of implant dentistry.
After completing his specialty training, Dr. Pappa joined the School of Dentistry at the University of Mississippi Medical Center as a full-time faculty member in 2014. He spent over a decade as a clinical and didactic professor, teaching second, third, and fourth-year dental students in his areas of expertise. These included fixed prosthodontics, dental esthetics, implant dentistry, and digital dentistry. At the same time, he maintained a busy and successful faculty dental practice, treating his own patients. Dr. Pappa gained invaluable experience over the 11-year period as one of only five prosthodontists in the state of Mississippi. This period allowed him to build a successful practice that included highly complex cases in the areas of fixed prosthodontics and implant dentistry. The University of Mississippi has a strong relationship with Children’s of Mississippi, which allowed Dr. Pappa to also treat pediatric patients with complex dental conditions caused by genetic disorders and trauma.
In 2025, Dr. Pappa made the transition to private practice, in order to provide high level, advanced treatment to patients in his community. He established Rocket City Prosthodontics in the city of Huntsville, Alabama and is now gladly accepting patients and referrals.
Dr. Andres Pappa is married to his wife, Dr. Diana Long Pappa, who was born and raised in Florence, Alabama. She attended the University in Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, in New York, and completed her general practice residency at Louisiana State University, where they met. They have three beautiful children, Ethan, Hailey, and James. The Pappa family is excited to be back in North Alabama, serving their community and establishing long, lasting relationships.
